Alcohol licensing
Sale and serving of alcohol
In order to sell or serve alcohol, you must obtain a licence to do so. The licence will be granted by the municipality in which the alcohol is to be served or sold. Licences for ships that provide public transport services and for cruise ships are granted by the County Governor.
Right of appeal
If the municipality rejects your application to sell or serve alcohol, you can appeal to the County Governor. The County Governor will be restricted to determining whether the content of the decision is lawful, whether the decision has been taken by the correct public authority, and whether it has been arrived at in a lawful manner. You should submit your appeal via the municipality that rejected your application.
